UPSSSC Stenographer is a Group C level post of UPSSSC. A Stenographer is also called आशुलिपिक in Hindi. A Stenographer writes the Hindi/English words spoken by the speaker in shorthand or code. hence to become a skilled stenographer, you need to be 12th pass and have knowledge of typing and shorthand in Hindi/English or both languages. Both languages have different typing speeds as per minute. So, a stenographer should have a minimum word speed of 100 words per minute to work in a courtroom.

UPSSSC Stenographer Job Role: UPSSSC Stenographer is a government employee who is responsible for providing stenography and secretarial support to government officials, and for maintaining official records. The role typically includes:
- Transcribing dictation and taking shorthand notes during meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Transcribing recorded speech and audio files into written documents.
- Proofreading and editing documents for accuracy and clarity.
- Maintaining files and records of all official documents.
- Communicating and coordinating with other government officials and departments.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the government or local authorities.
UPSSSC Stenographer Selection Process
The UPSSSC Steno Selection Process consists of the following steps.
- Written Exam
- Typing test and Shorthand test
- Document verification
- Appointment
In the first phase, you have to pass the OMR-based written test. If you are selected for the written examination, you will have to pass the typing test and shorthand test. After passing these exams, you will have to call for a document verification test. If all your documents are correct according to the qualification prescribed in the application form, then you will be cleared in this test. After completing all these steps a final merit list will be made and on the basis of the marks obtained in the same, you will be given an appointment letter.

UPSSSC Stenographer Qualification
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has prescribed the following educational qualifications for recruitment to the posts of UPSSSC Steno. in various departments.
Mandatory Qualification
The Candidates, who have –
- Qualified in the intermediate Exam. of Secondary Education Council Uttar Pradesh or any examination recognized by the Government as equivalent.
- A minimum speed of 80 words per minute and 25 words per minute respectively in Hindi shorthand and Typing Test.
- Qualified the CCC examination conducted by the DOEACC Society or a computer course conducted by the Secondary Education Council Uttar Pradesh or its equivalent recognized computer course by the government.
Preferential Qualification
The Candidates, who have served for a minimum period of 2 years in regional service or have obtained B grade certificate of National Cadet Corps
Note:- According to the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, preference will be given to those candidates, who possess the preferential qualification in addition to the above educational qualification, on the vacant posts of UPSSSC Steno.

How to fill UPSSSC Stenographer form 2023?

UPSSSC Stenographer Exam Pattern
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission conducts UPSSSC Stenographer Examination in 2 phases. In the first phase, there is an objective type MCQ test of 40 marks and in the second phase, there are shorthand and typing test of qualifying nature. the computer typing test is conducted on a computer or laptop only.
Finally, the candidates will be allowed to appear in the typing test or short-hand examination, only when they qualify for the written examination.
